Yea, I know. It’s been quite some time since I’ve posted to my blog. I’m going with: the holiday season was very time consuming, I had to listen to my Elvis Christmas album over and over and over again, I had to play with my grandson, Chase, I had to clean up after my grandson, Chase, had to fly to Tennessee so my soldier daughter home from Iraq, would get a chance to spend Christmas with her son before we had to head back to sunny California and wait for her to get leave to come back to get her son, had to get find my sewing equipement (found it in the last place I looked too!).
Okay, so I had excuses, but that’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
So, now that my grandson is back with his mom (yes, nana is very sad/happy) I have time to do some diy projects. I’ve been motivated to try a drop cloth slipcover for my vanity ottoman.
So first thing, was pulling my sewing machine out of the linen closet where it’s sat since we moved to this house back in April. Then I had to find the electric cord/foot petal. Yea that was fun. Had to run to joann fabric for all the accouterments needed to get started, then get the drop cloth from Home Depot, wash and dry….
So here’s my inspiration photo (from Ballard Designs):
Here’s my current status:
Here’s the deal. I had purchased my Singer sewing machine from Target. I just wanted a basic machine and wasn’t interested in spending hundreds of dollars for a fancy smancy machine.
Problem. I broke the cheapy zipper foot that came with the machine. Well, good luck trying to find a replacement. So, I’m looking online and will try Target to see if they have it or even maybe Walmart.
Don’t you just hate stopping mid-stream when you’re in your moment?
I’ll post when I complete the ottoman.
